Line 6 have updated their audio interface in a big way, the Sonic Port VX not only let’s you plug in your guitar or bass directly for high quality recording to your computer (or iOS device), as well as a line input for recording keyboards, drum machines etc, but it also includes stereo and mono condenser microphones!
Matched stereo mics let you record live performances with remarkable clarity. The mono front-facing mic is perfect for capturing the raw energy of your songwriting sessions.
The Sonic Port VX has Zero-latency monitoring which means you can record without any audio lag between the time you strike the string and the time you hear the sound. I’m assuming this is the pre affected signal so if you are recording into a DAW using a plugin to create your guitar tone this won’t be that useful but if you are mic’ing an amp or recording acoustic guitar it is a brilliant feature.
The included Mobile POD app gives you over 10,000 presets designed by artists, Line 6 and other players—plus the ability to mix and match 32 amps, 16 effects and 16 speaker cabs to define your own sound. Mobile POD also lets you use your custom tones when playing along with your iTunes® library.
“Plug a USB power supply into Sonic Port VX and it simultaneously powers your iOS device, so you’ll never lack the necessary battery charge. Also, with features like a tabletop stand with mic stand adapter, and a 1/4” thread for tripod connections, you can put Sonic Port VX where you need to capture great recordings.”
