Source Audio have released the Soundblox 2 OFD MicroModeller, the OFD stands for “Overdrive, Fuzz, and Distortion.” Initially looking at the pedal it looks kind of complicated but it is actually very simple, it has two available presets accessed from the two footswitches and then a number of controls to shape your distortion, overdrive or fuzz. The main dial in the middle of the pedal selects which of the 12 types of OFD which include accurate models of Marshall® and Mesa Boogie® amps, as well as iconic pedals including the Big Muff®, Fuzz Face®, and Tube Screamer®. To sculpt the sound you can use the Voice and Tone controls, the Tone has an additional switch which selects the Treble, Mid or Bass frequency that you want to adjust with the Tone control. Then you have a Voice control which further colors the tone to make it either warmer or more cutting. The pedal also has a 3-level noise gate Noise Gate, a Drive control and a Multi-function In (use an expression pedal or the Hot Hand Motion Sensor to morph between presets or manipulate any of the six assignable parameters.) Also this pedal is MIDI Capable — the Multi-function In jack also allows MIDI access to presets and parameters.
