FRET12 Productions have released the 3rd installment of their ‘The Sound and The Story’ instructional documentary guitar DVD series starring expert guitarist and educator Troy Stetina. Numerous artists including Mark Tremonti have worked with Troy to employ his method. The DVD examines Stetina’s personal development as a guitarist and features over 3 hours of educational content (control and articulation, reducing playing tension, building engaging riffs, shred picking secrets, metronome techniques and more), behind-the-scenes studio segments and an up-close look at his pedal board setup. The DVD comes with a booklet that includes TAB for the examples that Troy covers and some sections from one of the complete songs on the DVD called Deceiver.

The Sound and The Story format is really cool because it is not just a string of technique lessons you actually get a really in-depth look into their background and you hear from the people that Troy has taught and inspired including guitar teachers who use Troy’s method books. You also get to see Troy in the studio and his approach to recording and songwriting. Troy also talks about his methods and why they work as well as how he gets his guitar tones.

As an addition to Troy’s lessons and interviews the DVD also includes a number of guest lessons from Michael Angelo Batio, Eric Friedman, Mark Tremonti and Bill Peck.
