This year marks the 40th anniversary of MXR’s incorporation in 1974 by engineer Keith Barr and his business partner Terry Sherwood. To musicians across the world, those three letters have come to represent innovation, inspiration, and rugged reliability. MXR has never stopped innovating, and Dunlop’s stewardship of the brand has seen the faithful reintroduction of its most iconic pedals—from the Phase 90 to the Dyna Comp® Compressor—as well as the development of modern classics such as the Carbon Copy® Analog Delay.

To celebrate 40 years of MXR innovation, we’ve put together tons of fresh content that we’ll be releasing throughout the year. On our YouTube Channel, look for our MXR Legacy series of mini documentaries covering the brand’s history — from being sold out of a suitcase to appearing on the world’s biggest stages — along with numerous artists, engineers, pedal designers, and original MXR personnel telling stories of sonic inspiration and discovery. On Facebook, Twitter, and our JimDunlop.com Blog, keep your eyes open for informative pieces covering a range of MXR-related topics as well as pedal giveaways.
