As part of Marshall Amplification’s 50th Anniversary celebrations they are releasing a set of 1 Watt amps covering all of the classic models released over the years. Marshall kicked things off at NAMM 2012 with the release of the JTM1 Head & Combo from the 60′s era with the classic block logo which I love. The JMP1 (not to be confused with the JMP-1) is the 2nd release and is top of my wish list in terms of tone as it pays homage to the 70′s era and from the demos I have heard it sounds fantastic.
Here are the specs:
2 x ECC83(12AX7) preamp tubes, 2 x ECC81 (12AT7) power tubes
True Class A, single-ended power amp topology
Authentic JMP era tone
Volume, Bass and Treble controls
Low Power switch to drop from 1 Watt to 0.1 Watt
Gain Boost which adds another tube stage to the signal path
Celestion 10″ Speaker in the JMP-1C Combo
8 & 16 Ohm speaker outputs
Era correct cosmetics
