Line 6 have just announced an update to their POD HD PRO range, which is the HD PRO or rack version of the already announced last July POD HD500X. POD HD Pro X has more processing power which lets you add even more effects to your signal chain. You can also mix and match HD amps, cabinets, mics and effects in virtually endless combinations and store them as 1 of 512 presets. POD HD PRO X has over 100 studio and boutique stomp effects and you can connect a Line 6 FBV Shortboard MkII foot controller for hands-free control over preset switching, effects, volume and looper functions. You can route your guitar through two completely independent signal paths each with its own HD amp and effects chain or process two signals at once using the 1/4” guitar, 1/4″ auxiliary, XLR mic, stereo line, S/PDIF or AES/EBU inputs.
You can connect to your computer via USB for studio-quality recording in your DAW or use POD HD Pro X Edit, the free editor/librarian software that makes it easy to tweak and organize all your tones.
I did read that you can’t connect to a power amp + cab (pre-amp only) and FoH (full modeled signal) at the same time which you used to be able to do with the X3 and is something that touring musicians often require. If anyone knows if that is correct please leave a comment below.
