This is kind of an odd one for me, I mean I understand making affordable versions of the top end guitars but these guitars look too far removed from Steve’s JEM’s for my liking. For a start the Maple necks, which you don’t see on many JEM models these days, and when you did they had pyramid inlays. The dot inlays make it look like an RG model, even the half vine inlay of the 555 looked a little bit more like the real Vai model. In fact, for the money I would look for a good second hand RG model anyway. The guitar does apparently feature an Edge tremelo, it seems Ibanez are reverting to this trem for many of their models this year over their Edge Pro system, not sure why but maybe because of the difficulty of not being able to use an intonation tool on the Edge Pro?

Here are the specs:

Neck – Jem Prestige neck. Maple w/ maple fingerboard. 24 fret, black dot inlay
