This is an interesting video because it features Guthrie Govan demoing his second prototype Charvel guitar which once again he stresses is not a signature guitar… yet. Guthrie will probably hate me analysing this guitar but it seems he is moving back to a similar kind of guitar as his original Suhr signature guitar with a Basswood body and Maple top. The differences are obviously that the neck is one piece roasted Maple (or caramelised?) with carbon rods for additional stability, and the top is Birdseye Maple rather than Flame or Quilt which is actually probably very expensive in comparison. I wonder if GG is going to be using both prototypes for different tones as the Solid Koa while probably sound more like his old solid Mahogany guitars.
