Guild style from the ’70s is back and better than ever with the return of the solid-body S-100 guitar. With its solid and slightly offset mahogany body, the new S-100 Polara™ evokes its esteemed and hard-rocking predecessor of more than 40 years ago.
Well I was too young in the 70’s to remember Guild electrics but this one is obviously based on a very famous guitar by another manufacturer that shares the same initial and ending in -ibson. The S-100 Polara is, as you would expect with this style of guitar, solid Mahogany with a 22 fret Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fretboard and aged Pearloid block inlays. The pickups on the S-100 Polara are Guild® “Anti-Hum” Dual-Coil Humbuckers controlled with a 3 way selector, 2 volume and 2 tone controls. The Bridge is a nickel plated Guild® Adjusto-Matic™ and the tuners are Grover® Sta-Tite™. The guitar is finished with an Opaque Plexi Pickguard with Guild® Logo.
