Bruce Mathiske has just released his latest album “My Life” which includes a collection of Solo Acoustic guitar compositions and songs with Bruce himself singing as well as a couple of interpretations of classic tracks “Paint It Black” by the Rolling Stones and “Is There Anybody Out There/The Wall” by Pink Floyd. The album covers a lot of different styles of acoustic playing and moods with flavours of Morocco, France, Nashville and Bruce’s home, Australia.

Head over to Bruce’s website http://www.bruceguitar.com/ for information on how to buy his new album as well as some video performances and TAB downloads.

Kaki King has been astounding audiences around the world for a decade now with her virtuosic control including her percussive two handed techniques of the acoustic guitar. Kaki’s sixth album ‘Glow’ has just been released and is a record filled with lush soundscapes provided by her interesting choice of instrumentation. As you will see in the video below and hear in the interview Kaki uses some very cool instruments on Glow as well as string ensembles to add an extra dimension to her compositions. The production is really great, solo acoustic tracks are subtly enhanced with percussion elements or tremelo guitar drenched in reverb so as not to interfere with Kaki’s incredible playing.

Kaki King is about to embark on an almost month long tour of Australia, here are the dates:

I recently recorded a video interview with UK Fusion guitarist Tom Quayle to talk about his new custom Fibenare Roadmaster ’56 Guitar. I wrote an article on Fibenare Guitars for Guitar Connoiseur magazine which you can check out here – http://thefirstissue.guitarconnoisseur.com/files/38.html, they are a really cool family business that make some extraordinary instruments, definitely worth checking out.

Tom is an amazing musician who has a load of great lessons available for purchase on his website and you can also arrange 1 hour Skype lessons which are also very worthwhile, I have had a lesson myself and Tom is a brilliant, relaxed and inspiring teacher. Tom also works for Guitar Interactive Magazine which I’m sure you’ve all probably checked out by now but if not is another great online mag with regular lesson columns from Tom as well as gear reviews.

Claude draws from his influences in blues, rock and funk influences to create very infectious music. Having seen Claude support Joe Bonamassa as a one man band last week I was blown away, Claude is not only a great guitar player, especially slide, but has a fantastic voice too and to play drums and guitar at the same time as well as sing amazes me. You can hear a preview of Claude’s albums over on his site http://claudehay.com.au/, where you will also find links to purchase his albums too.
